How The Market works

What Orchard is

The Market is where members of the Orchard Discord buy and sell shares of poker tournament action. A Verified player offers part of a buy-in; backers buy shares of it; if the player cashes, each backer gets their share of the prize.

Orchard tracks offers, bookings, results and each player's record. Orchard never holds funds. Every payment goes wallet to wallet, in USDT on Polygon, between the two members of a deal. Tournaments are picked from the CoinPoker schedule.

Getting started

Sign in with Discord. The Market reads your server role on its own; nothing to fill in.

RoleWhat you can do
VisitorBrowse offers, the schedule and profiles. Booking a share is not possible: ask a Mod for the Member role.
MemberEverything a Visitor can, plus book shares and post hands for review with /hand.
VerifiedEverything a Member can, plus post offers on the room your nickname is verified on.

Becoming Verified

Run /apply in the verification channel with your room and the exact nickname you play under. A Mod checks the account with you on a short screenshare (bring your USDT deposit address on Polygon so it can be matched to the room cashier) and grants the Verified role. A verification is due again after 180 days, or earlier if a Mod asks.

Your payout address

Register your Polygon address once, on My deals. It must be a valid address: 0x followed by 40 characters, and when it is written in mixed case the checksum must match, so a mistyped character is caught. Changing it less than 24 h before a settlement alerts the Mods automatically.

For backers

Browse

Browse lists the offers still open for booking. Filter by room, featured event, tournament, maximum ABI (the player's average buy-in), maximum markup, risk level, or search by name. Fully sold offers are hidden unless you ask for them.

Read an offer

  • The player: their emblem, their verified seals and one badge: Caution, Reliable or Building (see Reputation).
  • The price: buy-in, markup and the price of 1 %. Sold and offered show how much is left.
  • Closes in: after that moment nobody can book.
  • Risk: low, medium or high, with the reasons. It adds up warnings: a Caution badge, late payouts on record, no or few settled deals, no verified room, 2 or more re-entries allowed, the player keeping less than half of the action, a markup above 1.15.

Book a share

  • Pick any share and book it. You hold one share per offer: booking again on the same offer returns the booking you already have.
  • Limits: 10 bookings per hour and 5 unpaid bookings at a time.
  • You own a share of the first entry only. Re-entries are the player's own money and dilute that tournament's payout, up to the maximum declared on the offer.

Pay within 6 h

Pay the player within 6 h of booking, or before the sale closes if that comes sooner. Send the exact amount in USDT on Polygon to the address shown on your booking, then mark it paid with the transaction hash. The player confirms receipt. The bot sends you a reminder about 2 h before the payment deadline.

Not paid in time? The booking expires, the share goes back on sale, and a payment declared after that is refused. Do not send money for an expired booking.

Get paid

After the tournament a Mod confirms the results from the player's CoinPoker profile, and the player sends each backer their share of the prize to their payout address. Confirm it on My deals once it arrives; you can then leave one review of that deal.

For players

Post an offer

  • You need the Verified role and a verified nickname on the room you sell for.
  • Tournaments come from the schedule only, and none may have started. One offer holds up to 40 tournaments; a single-tournament offer holds exactly one.
  • Markup between 1.00 and 1.20: the price of 1 % is buy-in × markup ÷ 100.
  • The sale must close in the future and before the tournament starts. It defaults to two hours before your first tournament, and can be at most 90 days out.
  • Bought your seat for less than the list price? Enter the buy-in you actually paid: backers pay on that figure.
  • Limits: 5 offers per 24 h, and one open offer per tournament.

Tier limits

Until you have a record, you sell a little. Your tier is computed from your settled deals each time you post.

TierNeedsMax share soldMax total buy-in
Tier 0—30 %100 USDT
Tier 13 settled deals50 %300 USDT
Tier 210 settled deals and no late payout in the last 90 days70 %no cap

70 % is the hard ceiling for everyone: a player always keeps at least 30 % of their own action.

During the sale

Confirm each backer's payment when it reaches your wallet. Unconfirmed bookings do not become deals.

Results and payouts

  • After the tournament a Mod reads your results on your CoinPoker profile and confirms them in the Mod panel: prize, entries played and finish for each tournament. That earns the Result verified seal.
  • Close the offer. Each backer is owed, tournament by tournament: prize × share ÷ entries counted, rounded down to the cent. What the rounding leaves stays with you. Entries beyond the re-entries you declared never dilute anyone.
  • Pay each backer within 72 h of the end of the deal (the last tournament day, 23:59 UTC) and enter the transaction hash. A payout that takes longer is recorded as late on your record; nothing can be late before the deal has ended.

Reputation

The badge

  • Caution: a late payout or a lost dispute in the last 90 days. It wins over everything else.
  • Reliable: 5 or more settled deals.
  • Building: everyone else.

The emblem

Next to a player's name, from their record. It is for reading only: what a player may sell is set by the tier limits above.

The seals

Late payouts

A payout settled more than 72 h after the end of the deal (the last tournament day, 23:59 UTC) counts as late, and so does one still unpaid past that moment. Late payouts stay on the record; one in the last 90 days shows the Caution badge and blocks Tier 2, Tree and Grove.

Worked example

A player sells shares of a 215 USDT Sunday CoinMillion at markup 1.05. You book 10 %. The figures below are computed by the same functions The Market uses.

Buy-in 215.00 USDT · markup 1.05

The prize is an example. In a tournament most entries cash nothing, and then nothing is owed.

Disputes and safety

Opening a dispute

On My deals, open the deal and press Dispute with one sentence. That deal is frozen: it cannot be marked paid or settled until a Mod resolves it. The rest of the offer carries on. /support opens a private thread with the Mods; bring the deal link, the transaction hashes and a screenshot. A Mod decides from the transaction hashes, the screenshots and the player's CoinPoker profile; the bot never decides a dispute.

Stay safe

  • Never share a seed phrase, a private key or a password, with anyone, for any reason.
  • Orchard staff never ask you to send them funds. Payments only ever go to the address shown on your booking or your deal.
  • Nothing here guarantees a result or a payout. Backing is a bet on a tournament: you can lose your whole share.

Discord commands

/marketYour link to The Market.
/helpHelp on getting started, buying, selling, payments, deadlines and disputes.
/statusWhere you stand, privately: bookings, sales, payouts, late flags.
/supportA private thread with the Mods: payment issue, dispute, verification or a bug.
/applyAsk a Mod to verify your room accounts.
/handPost a hand for review, three a day; voting closes after two days.

FAQ

What is markup?

The price of 1 % is buy-in × markup ÷ 100. At 1.10 you pay 10 % over cost for the player's edge. Markups run from 1.00 to 1.20.

How do I pay?

USDT on Polygon, directly to the player's address shown on your booking, the exact amount, then enter your transaction hash. Within 6 h of booking, less if the sale closes sooner.

When do I get paid?

The player pays your share of the prize within 72 h of the end of the deal (the last tournament day, 23:59 UTC), directly to your payout address. Confirm it on My deals once received.

What if a payout is late?

It counts as a late payout on the player's record, shown on Browse and on their profile. If it is still unpaid, open a dispute from My deals.

What about re-entries?

Backers fund the first entry only. Each re-entry is the player's own money and dilutes that tournament's payout, up to the maximum the offer declared. A Mod reads how many entries were played on the CoinPoker profile.

How do I open a dispute?

My deals → the deal → Dispute, one sentence. That deal is frozen and the Mods get the case. /support with the reason "Dispute" opens a private thread.

How do I get verified?

Run /apply with your room and nickname. A Mod checks the account on a short screenshare and grants the Verified role. Then you can post offers.

What are 2-day events?

An event with a Day 1 and a Day 2. Results and payouts count from the end of Day 2.

What is a satellite package?

A player sells a package of satellites for a featured event. If they win a seat, your share carries into the main event at the seat's value, with nothing more to pay. No seat: payouts come from the satellites' cash only.
